No problem: Three kids buy tickets, fly solo to Nashville - Weblogs.sun-sentinel.com

Posted: 13 Aug 2010 03:33 AM PDT

The children were ages 15, 13, and 11 — and apparantly bored.

Bridget Brown,15, had saved $700 from babysitting.

And the money must have been burning a hole in her pocket.

So she asked a friend if he wanted to fly anywhere.

The friend, 13-year-old Bobby Nolan III, said Nashville. So, along with Brown's 11-year-old brother, they took a cab to the airport, reports First Coast News in Jacksonville.

They bought tickets at the Southwest counter. Security "just took our stuff out of our pockets, took our shoes off and walked through it and they didn't say nothing," Nolan told First Coast News.

IDs?
Everybody else had IDs. But we didn't," Nolan told First Coast News.

And off they flew.

Later that evening, Bobby called his parents, who thought he was at a friend's house.

He told his family he was in Nashville and, about $700 later, they flew back home the same way, reports First Coast News.

Southwest said no rules were broken: An 11-year-old is allowed to fly with anyone 12 or older, according to their policy, and doesn't have to pay a fee for being an unaccompanied minor, reports First Coast News.
